Hanging Rock

Made my way up to Hanging Rock State Park this past weekend. Hiked up with plenty of time to chill and wait for sunset. It was a good hike and a beautiful view.

Now, if I can be like a grumpy old man for a second, let me say that there are two important things that people need to learn:

1: STOP writing on the rocks!! It’s graffiti, it’s ugly, and it’s stupid! No one cares that you were there! Please, take only pictures, leave only footprints…
2: And this one is probably more of a personal opinion, but stop talking so much! Relax and enjoy the view and let others enjoy the peace and quiet

Sunset from Humpback Rock

If you look closely at nearly the center of the photo, there is an opening in the trees. That’s the Blue Ridge Parkway and the entrance to the parking area for the hike up to Humpback Rock. It’s quite a hike, 2 miles uphill the entire way. But they view at the top is worth every step. Both sunset and sunrise can be seen from the rocks.
