Special thanks to BlackJack Farms of Shelbyville for allowing me out there at night to take this photo.

Christmas on the Farm

About an hours worth of 30-second photos, merged to show the movement of the stars.

College Grove Methodist Church

*Looks better if you click it :)*

I headed out a couple of days ago in search of a good night photo. I ended up in College Grove, where this beautiful church is. I’ve passed it before, so I’ve thought about a night shot. The problem was the street lights in front and to the side. I had to shoot from this angle to block the one on the side. Overall, I think it turned out pretty well. This is approximately 45 minutes worth of 30 second exposures, blended to show the motion of the stars.

Night Sky Over Nashville

Looks better if you click on it! 🙂

The Nashville Skyline with stars and the full moon overhead. Don’t you wish this were possible? The night sky is amazing, I wish we could see more of it over the cities. This is, in fact, a composite created by merging several photos together. The night sky was photographed miles away from the city and then blended into the photo of the Nashville skyline to make an artistic version of Nashville at night.

Thursday Night Football in Nashville

Thursday Night Football in Nashville, unfortunately the Titans couldn’t pull out the win over the Colts at LP Field. On the plus side, the skies were great right before the game 😉

2014 Calendar Pre-Orders and Free Print Give Away

So I’m excited about the number of 2014 calendar pre orders so far that I’ve decided to give away two free prints as a thank you! Chosen at random, two people who have ordered calendars will also get a free 8×10 matted print in the mail with the calendar! For those who have ordered multiple calendar’s, you’ll get an entry in the drawing for each calendar ordered.

There is only a few days left to pre-order. After I place the order with the printing company, I’ll have a very limited supply. Haven’t ordered one yet? [button link=”http://malcolmmacgregorphotography.com/2014-calendar-pre-order-page” text=”Click Here to get Started!!” color=”red” /]

Morning Light in the Smokies

Here’s another photo from my day trip to the Smokies. This is from the Newfound Gap Overlook on the way up to Clingmans Dome. I arrived just as the clouds were breaking a little and allowing beautiful morning light to stream through onto the mountains and valleys below.

2014 Calendar’s are ready for pre-order! Order yours today!

Black Bear in Cades Cove

This black bear cub was sticking his tongue out at the groups of people trying to get a photo. Please remember to keep your distance when you see black bears in Cades Cove or anywhere else. You are supposed to give them 50 yards and I saw many people much closer than that.

Middle Prong Little River

For some reason, shooting cascades is really tough for me. Finding the right composition does not come easy. I shot many cascades in the Tremont area of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that morning, several hours worth. And yet, I have only two to share. Once I would look at most of them on the computer screen, I didn’t like something about them. I guess I’ll just have to practice these more, and that means more trips to the mountains  🙂

Here is the other:
