Black Bear in Cades Cove

This black bear cub was sticking his tongue out at the groups of people trying to get a photo. Please remember to keep your distance when you see black bears in Cades Cove or anywhere else. You are supposed to give them 50 yards and I saw many people much closer than that.

Cades Cove Wildlife – 2011

Here are some shots of the wildlife we saw at Cades Cove this year. Since I don’t have telephoto lens, I rented a Canon 100-400L from Lensrentals.com. Overall it’s a pretty decent lens although it took some time getting use to it. Here is what I was able capture

Cades Cove Round Two – The Wildlife

Cades Cove Round One was for landscapes, Cades Cove Round Two is for wildlife! I was absolutely amazed at the amount of wildlife we saw in just the few short hours we were there.

Cades Cove Round 1 – The Landscapes

I had the pleasure of visiting Cades Cove, part of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in East Tennessee, on Monday June 28.

I came back with over 300 photos! Tons of landscapes and so much wildlife. It was my first time visiting so I got all the “touristy” shots out of the way! It really was a beautiful place, I can’t wait to go again.

I have to give a big shout out to my flickr contact Anthony for the inspiration to visit this amazing place. His shots from Cades Cove and all around East Tennessee are so amazing.

Here is Round One – The Landscapes:

Stay tuned for Round Two – The Wildlife!
